For Microsoft Windows XP :
- Open Control panel in Start Menu.
- Go to Administrative Tools.
- Open Event Viewer.
- In the left side bar Click on Application.
- Check Error on the Filter Log Window and type 1000 in the event ID box then click OK.
- On the results, Double Click the latest Application Error and it will show you faulting module of the internal error.
Make sure that the Faulting Application shows the msn.exe file as it may show more application error, not associated with MSN Crash.

For Operating System Windows Vista and Windows 7
- Go to Windows Start Menu, visit Control Panel.
- Open Administrative Tools. If you are not getting Administrative tools option then look at the top right corner and select view by Either Large Icon and Small Icon so you will see the option Administrative Tools.
- Open Event Viewer.
- On the left Expand Windows Logs and select Application.
- At the right-hand side of the page Click on Filter Current Log.
- Check Error on the Filter Log Window and type 1000 in the event ID box then Click OK.
- On the results, Double Click the latest Application Error and it will show you faulting module of the internal error for MSN not responding.
